Costa Rica Saves 325 Millions of Liters of Water While Educating Students

The “Water Watchers” program has ensured that children of Costa Rica rationally use the water resources and allowing for savings of 325 million liters in five years. “Water Watchers” consists of three phases: identifying opportunities for saving water in schools, adequacy of facilities to maximize its use and training to children. Collaboration in schools includes a complete change of pipe, the installation of efficient appliances, such as medical devices with timer and low water consumption. In addition, some schools have installed storage systems that allow water continuity lessons if liquid missing.
